Part 1: The 1st Marine Division and the 81st Infantry Division battle on Peleliu, clearing enemy strongholds. Japanese barges are attacked (September 24) and enemy troops are killed. On Angaur, engineers clear and smooth ground for an airstrip. Part 2: German films show Allied POW's being marched through Paris; citizens abuse the prisoners. Part 3: Canadian troops cover an air base in France with bitumen paper. Part 4: Troops and tanks mop up final resistance in Aachen, Germany. Part 5: Logs are laid in mud to make a corduroy road in Germany. Part 6: Japanese-American troops in the 7th Army ride towards Bruyeres, France, fight, and take the city. Part 7: King George VI greets General Eisenhower and inspects an honor guard. Part 8: Brazilian troops disembark at Naples, Italy and are carried to other beaches in landing craft. Part 9: Carries planes strafe ships in the Marianas and bomb Formosa. Shows details aboard the carrier as planes are prepared for flight, take off, land, and are berthed. MacArthur boards the cruiser "Nashville" and confers with General Sutherland and General Kenney. 600 ships advance toward Leyte Island, P.I. Troops land after an intense bombardment (October 20). MacArthur and Osmena come ashore, are greeted, and participate in victory ceremonies.
